Meet our teacher, EVITA ARCE!
EVITA ARCE is an endearing and recognized figure in the Lindy Hop community, celebrated for her exuberant joy, charming classes and inviting partner connection. Evita was featured in the 2016 documentary “Alive and Kicking,” illustrating her devotion to Lindy Hop. Since her move to New York City in 2004, Evita has danced full time, appearing on Broadway alongside Caleb Teicher for Regina Spektor’s concert, as well as representing Lindy Hop with Jazz at Lincoln Center at the Kennedy Center, and several shows at the historic Jacob’s Pillow. Other noteworthy engagements include competing on “So You Think You Can Dance” and touring the Broadway show SWING!. Evita is most proud to be part of the Creative Team which produced SW!NG OUT, a groundbreaking performance that premiered at New York City’s Joyce Theatre in 2021. This pioneering production marked a historic moment in the dance world, dedicating a full length show solely to Lindy Hop and Big Band Jazz Music. Presently, Evita calls Sydney, Australia home, where she continues to share her expertise through local classes and special projects aimed at nurturing dancers’ performance and partner skills. Aspiring enthusiasts worldwide can also tap into her wealth of knowledge via Syncopatedcity.com, an online platform she has curated since 2015.
