Swing Man at the Theatre Royal – August

damian_callinan_-_swing_man_4_lrThis quirky show combines comedy with swing dance as Damian Callinan renowned character actor, stand-up comedian and three time Barry Award nominee brings us a brand new show, about taking (mid)life by the horns.

Swing Man debuted as part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016, and is touring Australia this year. Mixing storytelling, stand-up, sketches and choreography Callinan takes the audience on a journey from his nervous teens to middle age where, having procrastinated for 34 years, he attempts to learn how to swing dance in 4 months. Can he tick off the only thing on his bucket list before it’s too late?

In conjunction with the show, Damian and his partner, swing dance champion Genevieve Wallis are offering a complimentary pre-show dance lesson to ticket holders before each performance, as well as the chance to get up at the end of the show and have a dance!
