Sweet, Sweet Swing – March 17

Dancing on FireThe next Sweet, Sweet Swing won’t be held until March – that’s because all the Sundays in February are already busy with other swing related events (or a long weekend…)! So to keep you going in February, why not head along to the Clarence Jazz Festival (on February 17 you can catch the Moonlight Aviators and Lindy Mob), or on the weekend of the 22-24 make the journey to Launceston for Borderline Blues!

Sweet, Sweet Swing will be back for 2019 on March 17, upstairs at the Republic Bar and Cafe from 4:30-6:30pm.

Class Finish and Resumption Dates

Well, the year is almost over (which means the Christmas Party is coming – see below!), and that means it’s almost time for the summer break from classes.

The last class for 2018 will be on December 12 – there will be a beginners class at 6:30pm followed by the Christmas Ice Cream Party to round out the year.

Classes will resume on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Well, check out these videos below to see a great performance of the Lindy Chorus for Frankie 100! (note the videos are the same, one of them is just in sepia, if you prefer that old time look…)

TasSwing T-Shirts For Sale!

T-Shirt LogoIt’s been about ten years since we last had t-shirts for sale, but our fabulous graphic designer, Veronica Dixon, has been hard at work, and has come up with a t-shirt line for TasSwing!  You can see the options here, here, here and here.

There are a choice of designs, plus you can also pick the colour for your t-shirt (I got blue!).  Prices range from $24-$27 (plus shipping).
At this stage we’re not planning on having any in class, they’ll only be available online.
