Eleanor + The Swingouts
Eleanor is no stranger to jazz music or swing dancing and this is the perfect way to combine both. Formed in 2024 for the sole purpose of playing for dancers “The Swingouts” feature all your favourite tunes played by Hobart’s finest musicians: Eleanor Webster, Lestyn Parry, Seb Folvig & Jonathan Dieckfoss.
Eleanor + The Swingouts will be playing at the Friday Night Welcome Dance.
Southern Lights Big Band
Based in Southern Tasmania, Southern Lights Big Band is a group of 18 dedicated community musicians who bring the classic big band swing era to life with a blend of traditional swing and contemporary upbeat repertoire. Their music suits general entertainment and dancing for all ages and abilities, and their strong support for community groups and events has made them a favourite at festivals, community gatherings and swing dance functions across Tasmania.
The band also performs for private functions and collaborates with other local entertainers, contributing to a wide range of performances across the state. Their lively and varied repertoire creates an entertaining soundtrack for an evening on the dance floor.

Featuring world class musicians Ralph Forehead, Dean Stevenson & Randall Muir, the trio swing out with beautiful harmonies, good humour and relaxed mastery.
